Why we are here

Several decades of studying consciousness, death, and past lives has led me to a firm understanding of why we exist as souls. In our daily lives, we rarely stop to think of this sort of thing. Perhaps we do, on a quiet moment when we're down at the beach, sun shining, and all is calm and peaceful. How far do we really get, with this sort of thing? Should we do more than just a few brief thoughts? Many people do, and they often defer to religion. That is totally and absolutely okay. Religion is useful in many ways, but it's not the only way.

If there is one thing I have learned, it's that there are many paths to God. To Source. To Allah. To our Creator. It doesn't matter what you call this entity, or even if you believe there are many Gods. Just be on the path in some way. Atheism, just as an aside, worries me. I would love to hear from an atheist reading this, just to understand how they came to believe that there is no God, no creator, nothing. So how did we come to be, then?  I just want to know what how they arrived at this conclusion.

Returning to the question of why we are here: it's complex and very, very deep, but there are some core principles. Put simply, we are here to love, learn, and grow. Our creator has created us, each of us, as an expression of themself. They want to know themself better, so we are spawned from them, and we are placed out away from them, within their realm, to find a path back, and to then enrich our creator when we get there.

We do this by learning to love others through many lifetimes. Tens, dozens, hundreds, of life times. Even more, according to some sources I have read. Sometimes we have a lifetime without much love. In others, love is the only thing we can ever think about. I have had clients across the entire spectrum of love in their individual lives.

Love and it's expression comes from one obvious context: relationships. Not just romantic love with an intimate partner, either. You can love a friend or friends. You can of course love family members. Animals. You can love places. Or things. Or activities. Love helps you to grow, to understand, and to define what is meaningful to you.

An absence of love is often found in many people, as they strive for success, or power, or achievement. What are these people hoping for if love is not involved?  There is a lot of this in our world today. People out to enrich themselves no matter the cost to others. There is a very important principle here, encapsulated in the Law of One series, and it is the Service-to-Others/Service-to-Self dichotomy. You are either serving yourself in what you do, or serving others. More of the latter is vastly preferred. This is also expressed as karma, although there are subtle differences between service-to-self and karma. Regardless, service to others is the way to go.

This is how you find you way back to your Creator. Service to others should not be all-consuming, however. Then it becomes debilitating selflessness, where you give away everything you have and become poor in the process in every way. The ideal is to look after yourself first, or you will have nothing to give to others, and will not give from a place of strength. Then you can self-actualise, by reaching for higher meaning in everything that you do.

So, though love, and via our relationships, we grow, and we return to our creator, enlightened and enriched by our experiences. Through keeping this central idea in your mind at all times, the rewards will come to you. Especially when you can help another through dark times, or be a shining light, guiding them towards their destiny. Maybe it's all about your destiny, and in reaching it, you enrich others via your success. That is okay too. As with everything, do it with the highest of intentions: aiming to lift mankind in general or just a few important people around you. This sets you on the right path, back towards your Creator. Your God. Your Home.

That is why we are here: to complete our journey back home, having done good things for others along the way. If we are not doing this, our journey will take longer. We might be headed down a side path, a detour, and get lost along the way. That is my purpose here, with what I do with hypnotherapy (past lives especially) and counselling. My aim is to help you find your way back onto your optimal path. Then the rest is up to you. May your Creator be with you in your journey.
