What happens in a Past Life Regression session?

So you're perhaps wondering what past life regression is really like? This article will help you to get a sense of what happens when you undergo hypnosis and access your past lives in my practice.

1. Hopefully you've arrived wearing soft comfortable clothing. Anything tight or restricting or too formal will restrict your relaxation somewhat. Dress as casually as you like - this is your session.

2. Once you've arrived and sat down on my couch we will talk about your life, your loved ones, your work, your play, anything that might give context to the session. This will take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. No matter how long this takes, you will still get either 1 or 2 hours of hypnotherapy on top of this, depending on what you have booked.

3. The room lighting will then be adjusted to be as dark as possible, but with enough light so that I can see what I am writing as I take notes throughout your session.

4. We begin the hypnosis, starting with the induction, which is a gradual series of relaxation suggestions and specific language aimed at helping you to go into a deep trance. By now you are laying on my couch, with a blanket over you, as you would otherwise find that your body temperature will drop while in trance. You may fall asleep during the induction. That is okay. I will still be talking to you and when it comes time to ask questions, you will almost certainly wake up. I have had a few clients fall asleep on me, but they've always woken up when the questions start.

5. You conscious mind will now be relaxed, and will be aware of what is happening as we start first off with a childhood memory. In this case, your mind might be hazy on the details. You might not see anything. Thus, I will use specific directions to get you to remember, or perhaps even ask you to create the experience in your mind based on feelings you have about that time of your life.  This is the essence of regression.

6. It may feel like you are making up the experience but you're actually not. You are receiving an energy signal from the Akashic Records and turning that into a description of an event you may not remember. When you get to your past life or lives, you absolutely will not remember, and converting this energy signal into a series of events is the critical component of past life regression. If you're at all concerned at this point, don't be. Nobody who has visited me yet has failed to achieve this. No, you won't be the exception. You will achieve this too.

7. After the childhood memory, we will take a short journey to the womb, before you were born in this life. In this scenario, you are absolutely drawing on your ability to reconstruct that time of your life from the Akashic Records.  A quick aside: the Akashic Records are an energetic storehouse of all that has happened to you in all of your lives and in your current life. Every single moment of every day is stored there. This process enables you to access that storage.

8. After the womb, we will now progress back to your most important past life. Here is where you will receive images or sensations (not everyone is visual) of some person that you were before. You might be a different sex, or the same sex, as you are now. This life might be very similar or vastly different to your current life. It might be related to recurring dreams you have had. Or it might be something you've seen in meditation. Or it could be in a particular culture or country that you have been fascinated with all your life.

9. At first, you might sense or see nothing at all, but eventually, you WILL get there. I have had many clients see nothing initially and then, every time, they have been able to eventually describe a rich and colourful life, full of events and people and places that they never expected. Not once has this process ever led to "I can't be hypnotised" or "I'm sorry, you're just not a good client".  ALL my past life regression clients have recounted past lives. We are all special people, every last one of us, and no-one is an exception to this rule.

10. After your past life has ended in some way, I will ask you, while still in trance, to reflect on the lessons learnt and to understand the connections to your current life. Then, if your booked time is not yet up, we will explore another life, and maybe another after that. I will then bring you back out of trance and into the present time and place, and ask you how you thought it went.

Each client experiences things differently. Some take charge of the situation and race ahead, others need gentle prompting. Either way, you will find it greatly enjoyable and the lives you see will stay with you for the rest of your life. How do I know this?  My very first past life session as a client was in 1999, and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
